Mixed Media Artist

As a mixed media artist, I am pure analog. I love being elbow deep in paint, papers, inks, and dyes. I revel in the lack of structure and let my mood and intuition lead the way. Color, form, pattern, and texture are the primary guiding elements when I create. I tell stories through the macro and micro imagery and messaging incorporated in my art. I create pieces that evoke both a sense of curiosity and contemplation, inviting the viewer to engage in with a sense of meandering exploration and reflection.

As I work, I build up the surface by applying multiple veiled layers of hand printed, hand marbled, and hand painted papers and paints over many sessions. The surface changes with each additional layer, retaining traces of previous images, patterns, and colors to create a depth and history. My approach is spontaneous; working the surface while creating an interplay of images and pattern that results in a complex and nuanced surface for viewers to engage with.

I love to challenge myself by working very small and very large, and am open to commissions of all sizes. Reach out to learn more!
